Soweto Gateway is a landmark mixed-use development located at the intersection of Soweto's primary arterial routes in Johannesburg, South Africa. Spanning approximately 68 hectares, it integrates six distinct precincts — Retail & Commercial, Residential Living, Mixed-Use Hub, Medical & Wellness, Light Industrial & Enterprise, and Tourism & Cultural — within a single masterplanned urban precinct designed to serve a catchment population of 3.5 million residents.

Soweto Gateway is strategically positioned along the N12 highway corridor in Soweto, Johannesburg. The site benefits from direct access to major arterial routes including Potchefstroom Road and Soweto Highway, with proximity to landmarks such as Orlando Stadium, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, and Vilakazi Street Heritage District.

Phase 1 of Soweto Gateway is scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2026, covering the Retail & Commercial precinct and initial infrastructure. Subsequent phases will roll out the Residential, Mixed-Use, Medical, Industrial, and Tourism precincts in line with demand and investment uptake. A detailed phasing plan is available on request.

Soweto Gateway is developed by a consortium of South African property developers, urban planners, and institutional investors committed to unlocking economic opportunity in Soweto. The development team includes specialists in masterplanning, retail development, residential delivery, and infrastructure engineering.

The total site area is approximately 68 hectares. The development will deliver in excess of 150,000 m² of gross leasable area across all six precincts, including retail, office, residential units, medical facilities, light industrial space, and tourism attractions.
